THE British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (BCCP) announced the return of the Great British Festival (GBF) from Oct. 19 to 20, 2024, to reinforce the deepening diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between the United Kingdom and the Philippines.

In partnership with the British Embassy Manila and the British Council, BCCP marked the return of the GBF last year after its hiatus in 2019 due to the pandemic.

It catered to 38 British companies, centered around multiple sectors, including financial, food and beverage, retail, auto show, general business and education.

Participating companies and brands included Shell, PRU Life UK, HSBC, CyberQ, One World Butchers, Monde Nissin’s Quorn, Coventry Motors: Range Rover, Rider Levett Bucknall, Yummy Organics (Berry Company & Tayto Group), Emperador (Smirnoff), Dyson, Save the Children, Nord Anglia International School and British School Manila.

Beyond the focus on the UK-Philippine trade relations, last year’s event theme also emphasized innovation, culture and arts, which showcased significant performances by Filipino bands and renowned performers, highlighting the diversity of British and Filipino culture.

The British Chamber looks forward to celebrating GBF to highlight the ever-expanding relations between the UK and the Philippines, recording a £2.8 billion total trade in goods and services, expecting an increase of the British companies that will be participating this year.

It also remains committed to assisting UK small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to invest in the Philippine market while continuing to uphold the interests of the British business community in the country.
